The Brookswood Bobcats came up short in their quest to qualify for the provincial championships.
The Bobcats went 2-2 at the Fraser Valley Triple-A senior boys basketball tournament, which was held at Abbotsford Secondary, Fleetwood Park and then Columbia Bible College.
The ’Cats, who were fourth in the Fraser Valley East Division, won their opener 57-54 over Princess Margaret but were relegated to the consolation side of the draw after a 69-59 loss to Fleetwood Park in the quarter-finals.
Brookswood did stay alive in the double knockout format with a narrow 41-38 win over Mission before losing 51-46 to the Samuel Roberts Technical Titans in the following game.
The Titans wound up placing fourth in the Fraser Valley tournament and secured the zone’s last berth for next week’s provincial Triple-A basketball championships at the Langley Events Centre (March 12 to 15).

The Langley Saints were also competing at the Fraser Valley tournament.
But the eight-place from the East Division lost 76-28 to Fleetwood Park and 67-36 to Princess Margaret.
