Central Saanich Little League is hoping to fix their leaky roofs before their season kicks off in April.
The roofs on the baseball clubhouse and four storage sheds within the park are starting to show their age, and in some cases beginning to leak, said Morley Wittman, president of the league.
Wittman approached Central Saanich council on Monday to ask that the buildings each have their shingles, tar paper and any damaged sheathing replaced prior to the start of the baseball season April 7.
The league has already obtained three independent quotes for the replacement of just the clubhouse roof, ranging from $2,400 to $2,680.
The entire project would likely be near $6,000, said Wittman.
Council approved the request for funding, but asked that Wittman and the Little League also look for funding elsewhere to mitigate the cost to the District.
