When the Trinity Western Spartans host the Canadian Interuniversity Sport men’s volleyball national championships next month, they will do so with some financial help from the provincial government.The Hosting BC program will provide $7,500 to the local university for the championships, which run March 4-6 at the Langley Events Centre.“B.C. is quickly becoming an internationally recognized sporting destination,” said Fort Langley-Aldergrove MLA Rich Coleman.“Funding like this highlights the many communities in B.C. that make this province such a great place for sports enthusiasts,” said Langley MLA Mary Polak.Hosting BC was designed to help build the province’s reputation as a premier event hosting destination. Since 2004, Hosting BC has invested more than $2.6 million in 34 communities to host 188 events.
