Abbotsford resident Amir Kani will be competing in Race for the House, a Sports Car Club of B.C. (SCCBC) charity auto race this weekend, July 18-19, at Mission Raceway in support of Ronald McDonald House B.C. (RMHBC).

Kani will be racing his Honda Civic SI, while a variety of other race cars are scheduled to compete Saturday and Sunday. Taking centre stage will be the open wheel Formula Continental cars.

For a small donation, the public can also feel the thrill of motorsport racing by taking a few laps in a high-performance car around the Road Course at Mission Raceway in the Hot Laps event.

The SCCBC was the second largest donor to RMHBC in 2014.

The RMHBC offers refuge for families of children admitted for treatment in local hospitals and relies, in part, on public support. It opened a new house last year, and can accommodate up to 73 families, and over 2,500 over the course of the year. Families are asked to pay $12 per night.
