100-67 victory gave the Rainmakers a 2-0 record over the weekend

The Rainmakers are continuing to display their talent this season as the charge toward zones continues.

The team capped off a successful set of weekend games on Nov. 4, beating Kitsilano 100-67 in the team’s second game.

Unlike the first game where Kitsilano was able to keep pace with them, the Rainmakers turned in a better defensive performance, limiting their opponents to 14 points in the first quarter while scoring 24 points. \

CHSS followed up that quarter by holding Kitsilano to 13 points in the second, 15 points in the third quarter and 25 points in the fourth.

Head coach Ryan Bishop said limiting Kitsilano’s three-point opportunities was a point of emphasis in the game.

“The big thing was that we rebounded just as well as we did in the first game, but this time got hands up on shooters a little better and they weren’t able to have as many open three pointers,” he said. “Without those looks they weren’t able to hit and it was just keeping that consistency throughout the whole game.”

Liam McChesney and Kai Leighton led the way once again for the Rainmakers with 32 points and 19 points respectively. Tyler Jones provided a spark for the team off the bench with 15 points.

The Rainmakers next host Prince George Secondary School next weekend.
