Graduating Chilliwack Chiefs defenceman is heading home for the next phase of his hockey career.
Or at least, close to home.
The New Brunswick native is moving to Prince Edward Island to play for the UPEI Panthers. His team team played in the U-Sports Atlantic University Sport (AUS) division alongside Acadia, St. Francis Xavier, New Brunswick, St. Mary’s, Moncton and Dalhousie.
The Panthers finished last season at 11-15-4 and have several former National Hockey League draft picks on their roster including goalie Matt Mahalak and forwards Cody Payne and Brent Andrews.
Arseneau just completed his third BCHL season, all with the Chiefs.
In 144 regular season junior A games the mobile blueliner had seven goals and 43 points. He led Chilliwack to back-to-back BCHL finals and totaled eight assists in 54 postseason games.
