The Kelowna Chiefs rebounded from a brief two-game slide to sweep a pair of weekend games in KIJHL action.
After a 4-2 victory Friday night in Sicamous, the Chiefs followed it up with a 5-3 win over the Chase Heat Saturday at Rutland Arena.
Brendan Mongey scored twice and added an assist to lead the Kelowna attack. Devin Sutton’s power play goal at 13:21 of the third period broke a 3-3 tie and sent the Chiefs to victory. Jarin Sutton added an insurance goal on the power play jus over a minute later.
Myles Mattila also scored for Kelowna, while Aidan Bar-Lev-Wise added a pair of assists. Aris Anagnostopoulos stopped 36 of 39 shots in the Chiefs’ net for his eighth win of the season.
The Chiefs (10-7-1-2) will be in Summerland Tuesday to take on the Okanagan Division leading Steam.
