Chilliwack Chiefs alum Jacques Bouquot commits to Vermont

There was a chance Bouquot might be back in the BCHL. Instead, he's joining the NCAA's Catamounts.

Chilliwack Chiefs forward Jacques Bouquot will be lacing up his skates in the NCAA this season after committing to the University of Vermont.

He arrived last season in a trade with the Wenatchee Wild and produced 10 goals and 28 points in 31 games.

“Our staff is very proud of Jacques. He came to Chilliwack last season ready to put in the work and bought in right away,” said Chilliwack head coach and general manager Brian Maloney. “It’s always tough coming into a program late in the season, but he was a huge addition to the culture of our dressing room and was one of our top performers down the stretch.

“His play along the walls and in the hard areas of the ice will be a great fit at Vermont.”

The University of Vermont Catamounts play in the 11 team Hockey East conference along with Boston College, Boston University, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Merrimack, New Hampshire, Northeastern, Providence and UMass Lowell.
