Chilliwack Chiefs forwards earn BCHL all-star selections

Matt Holmes, Kevin Wall and 14 others earned spots on first, second or all-rookie teams.

The Chilliwack Chiefs have earned four spots on BCHL all-star teams.

The league announced first and second team all-star selections Thursday morning along with an all-rookie team.

Kevin Wall gets a first-team nod after producing 31 goals and 64 points in 49 games. Wall ranked eighth in BCHL scoring, but fourth in points-per game.

Other first-team all-stars are forwards Alex Newhook (Victoria) and Ryan Brushett (Powell River), defencemen James Miller (Penticton) and Carter Berger (Victoria) and goaltender Jack LaFontaine (Penticton).

Chilliwack forward Matt Holmes outscored Wall in the regular season, leading the Chiefs with 68 points (28 goals) in 54 games, and he gets a second team all-star selection.

Other second-team all-stars are forwards Mike Hardman (West Kelowna) and Nick Granowicz (Merritt), defencemen Layton Ahac (Prince George) and Aiden Hansen-Bukata (Nanaimo) and goaltender Logan Neaton (Prince George).

Wall and Holmes both earn spots on the BCHL’s all-rookie team, joined by forward Kent Johnson (Trail), defencemen Pito Walton (Coquitlam) and Nick Bochen (Prince George) and goaltender Aidan Porter (Vernon).

Eleven of the BCHL’s 17 teams are represented in the selections.

Teams without an all-star include Wenatchee, Salmon Arm, Surrey, Cowichan Valley, Alberni Valley and the Langley Rivermen.
