Chilliwack Chiefs netminder Daniel Chenard is the BCHL Player of the Week for the period ending March 10.

Chenard turned lemons into lemonade in the first round of the playoffs.

The week started poorly when Chenard was pulled in game three, after letting in three Langley goals on 10 shots.

Lemons.

But from that point on the 19 year old goalie was nearly unbeatable.

He made 38 saves in a 2-1 game-four win in Langley and was named the game’s first star. He stopped 26 pucks and earned a second star selection in a 2-1 game-five win at home. In Chiliwack’s 3-2 overtime win at Langley in game six, Chenard made 36 saves.

Saving his best for last, Chenard stopped 43 shots in game seven as his Chiefs beat the Rivermen 3-2, moving on to the second round where they’ll face Prince George.

The netminder has a 4-3 record, a .926 save percentage and a 2.39 goals-against average in the postseason.
