Chilliwack Chiefs grind out win over visiting Vernon Vipers

The junior A club won for the sixth time in its last seventh games with a tight defensive effort.

A cautious first period saw one goal scored, that by Chiefs forward Nikita Nesterenko.

Joey Larson caught up to a dump-in behind the Vernon net and delivered a backhand centering pass into the goal-mouth. Nikita Nesterenko snapped it past Viper goalie Max Palaga for his second of the season at 13:12.
