Chilliwack’s Hayden Guilderson stars with Trinity Western Spartans

The forward won a player of the week award in the B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League.

Trinity Western University forward and Chilliwack hockey product Hayden Guilderson is the B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 9.

Guilderson had four goals and two assists in two games as his Spartans extended their winning streak to five games with a pair of home ice victories.

The 22 year old scored in the first and second period before adding an assist in the third period, pacing TWU to a 5-2 win over Selkirk College. It was Guilderson’s first multi-goal game of the 2019-20 season.

He duplicated the feat on Saturday, scoring the Spartans’ first goal of the game en route to an 8-1 drubbing of the University of Victoria. He also chipped in with an assist in the first period and notched TWU’s last goal with 1:12 remaining in the game.

The former junior A veteran is hot as of late, riding a four game point streak with five goals and five assists during that stretch. He is now fourth in scoring on the Spartans this season with eight goals and 15 assists in 19 games.
