Chilliwack’s Neil Reeder leads masters swimmers at English Bay meet

Neil Reeder, Andrew Carmichael and Paula Quick combined to win 12 medals at the Love to Swim meet.

Chilliwack’s Masters Swim Club produced impressive results at the Love to Swim meet that was held March first at English Bay in Vancouver.

Competing in the men’s 70-74 group, Neil Reeder grabbed gold in two races, the 50 and 100 metre breaststrokes.

He scored silvers in the 50 and 100m freestyles.

Andrew Carmichael finished first in the 100m backstroke. He was second in the 50m backstroke and 100m breaststroke and third in the 200m breaststroke.

Paula Quick grabbed three silver medals in the 100, 200 and 400m freestyles and bronze in the 50m freestyle.

The local club will host their own meet this month.

The March Madness meet takes place March 14 at the Landing Leisure Centre, welcoming athletes from all over B.C.
