Chilliwack FC alum Victory Shumbusho has been drafted by a professional soccer squad.
The UBC Thunderbirds star was picked by Pacific FC in the second round (12th overall) of the Canadian Premier League (CPL) U-Sports draft.
Sixteen players were picked in the virtual draft for Canadian university soccer standouts who register and declare themselves available to be selected.
Pacific FC is based in the Langford area of Greater Victoria, playing out of Westhills Stadium.

The team entered the CPL in 2019 and posted a record of 8-13-7 in their first season. Pacific FC went 4-4-2 in an abbreviated 2020 campaign.
The CPL debuted in the spring of 2019 and includes Cavalry FC (Calgary), FC Edmonton, Valour FC (Winnipeg), Forge FC (Hamilton), York United FC (Toronto), Atletico Ottawa and HFX Wanderers FC (Halifax).
Under the terms of the CPL and U-Sports partnership, Shumbusho can sign with Pacific FC but retain his university eligibility.
Shumbusho, a dynamic forward, is in his fourth year with UBC.
