Last weekend saw the Clearwater pee wee Ice Hawks teams 1 and 2 host a tournament at the North Thompson Sportsplex. Eight teams filled out the game schedule. Clearwater’s two teams competed with Kamloops, Kelowna, Winfield, Chilliwack, Quesnel, and Vernon.

The first puck-drop at noon on Feb. 1 saw Clearwater Ice Hawks pee wee 2 take on Kamloops. The weekend held a lot of great sportsmanship as well as some fun, edge of their seat, nail biting activity for the fans.

The final game took place in the afternoon of Feb. 3 at 1:15 p.m. with a fair amount of time afterwards to return home for the out-of-towners. The weekend held some tough action, with tight goal scoring and defence, from all of the teams involved.

The cool weather had the fans bundled up, but they were still loud and encouraging for their players. The two local teams won a combined four games and showed some awesome skill and teamwork. Thanks for the amazing effort from everyone, players, refs, fans, volunteers and coaches alike, what a great adventure.
