Damian Rennie, Jordan Neufeld, Ben Alexander, Noah Goyer and Cianan Briscoe are the only remaining players on this year’s squad that have a full season under their belt.

Finn Withey — who had captained the Yetis and led the team in scoring — has moved up to Junior A hockey in Canmore, Alta. Rennie now sits atop the leaderboard with 14 goals and eight assists, followed by Neufeld with five goals and 15 helpers. Rookie forward Rick Takeda also has 20 points (four goals and 16 assists).

The Kings have also moved 20-year-old defender Dayton Keith to the Oceanside Generals, who are a playoff contender. The Parksville team sits third in the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL) North Division with 15 wins and 22 losses. The Yetis are in the basement with four wins and 34 losses.

“For the rest of the season, I want to see the same progress on and off the ice we have had all year,” Glacier Kings head coach Jordan Kamprath said. “Compete right from the first puck drop and battle with every team — whether they are top in the league or bottom.”

The Kings next game is Saturday at home against the Kerry Park Islanders, who are second in the VIJHL South Division with 19 wins and 15 losses.
