The Comox Valley Glacier Kings notched their first point on Saturday in a 3-2 overtime loss to the visiting Westshore Wolves.
Westshore got on the board with two goals from Andy Westhaver in the first period. The second period saw neither team finding the back of the net, but in the third period Glacier King Ryan Whitehead tied things up with two goals by the midway mark. Matthew Teasdale and Noah Malthaner set up the first goal at 5:39 into the period, while Teasdale and Jacob Murray assisted on the second at 9:29.

Unfortunately, the Glacier Kings couldn’t maintain the momentum, as the Wolves broke the deadlock in the overtime period. Brandon Naidu stopped 38 of 41 shots for Comox Valley.
Last Thursday, Comox Valley lost on the road to the Victoria Cougars 5-2. The hosts jumped out to a big lead, scoring three times in the first. In the second, the Glacier Kings cut the deficit to one, with goals from Tanner Roberts, assisted by Ryan Telford, and Jordan Neufeld, with helpers to Roberts and Logan Chapdelaine, but Victoria pulled away with a goal in the second and another in the third. Naidu faced 54 shots in goal from the Cougars.
Next up, Comox Valley hosts Victoria at home on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. and have a road game against the Oceanside Generals on Saturday at 7 p.m.
