Comox Valley gymnasts and trampolinists celebrate season at championship event

The recreational gymnastics winter season came to an end March 9 with the 59th annual Comox Valley Gymnastics Championships, at the Lewis Centre in Courtenay.

More than 100 competitors attended the day-long event, which featured gymnastics and trampolining competitions for athletes aged 5-16.

The following winners were crowned at the event:

Trampoline L1 trophy winner: Noah Lapointe

Trampoline L 2/3 trophy winner: Chase Balbon

Girls Gymnastics champion: Sydny Lebrun

Boys Gymnastics champion: Chase Balbon

Best All Around trophy: Annika Balbon

Outstanding Effort medallion: Alexis Belanger

Dedication & Drive medallion: Tianna Belanger.
