Seven U18 girls graduated from the CVUSC youth soccer program on Wednesday, 16 June, with three earning soccer scholarships to universities within B.C.

The graduates are Annika Berg, Birgit Powers, Cali McKay Kirsten Cook, Annika Funk, Sydney Sutherland and Abby Duncan.

Most of these girls began playing footie within the club at the age of eight. At age 13, most moved on to the tier two level, Upper Island Riptide, and have had great success, including winning provincial championships.

In probably the worst training environment to be in, COVID, these girls continued to show up for training and have shown the true meaning of the words “commitment and passion” for the game.

The coaching staff wishes them all the best in their endeavours.
