The Comox Valley Yacht Club (CVYC) is holding its annual open house on Saturday, June 8, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Comox Valley Marina, near the Harbour Air office in Comox. The open house will be followed in the evening by a social get-together at the Comox Golf Club at 6 p.m. for any potential or new members.
Also joining us will be the Cape Lazo Power and Sail Squadron to answer all your questions about training and safety on the water.
CVYC is known as the “blue jeans” yacht club, with an emphasis on casual socializing and boater education during the fall and spring and cruising during the summer. Our members have boats of all sizes and descriptions.
We also have reciprocal privileges, allowing members to visit other yacht clubs without charge.
CVYC also acts as a Parks BC steward for Tree Island, including conducting an annual clean-up day on the island and acting as park hosts during the summer months.
So, if you own a boat, love boating and want to share or acquire information about boating in the beautiful waters that surround us visit the club at its open house, to ask questions of the members who will be on hand to talk with you. Potential new members are invited to attend the TGIS event that evening and will be eligible for a prize draw. For more information contact Sue Newman at 250-898-8333, or visit cvyclub.com
