Controls shut down Eagle Homes 3-1 to remain unbeaten

Turn-Key Controls clip Salmon Arm’s Eagle Homes 3-1 in North Okanagan Soccer League play Wednesday night on Marshall Field #1.

Turn-Key Controls remained undefeated in the young North Okanagan Soccer League season with a 3-1 win over Salmon Arm’s Eagle Homes Nation of Domination Wednesday night on Marshall Field #1.

Turn-Key, now 2-0, opened the scoring in the 21st minute when Nolan’s Pharmasave Man of the Match Andrew Pool chipped over the keeper from 20 yards out off a brilliantly headed through ball by Preston Tucker. Pool found himself alone behind the opposition defence shortly after to bring the score to 2-0 at halftime.

The second half saw two tired teams, with neither side able to rely on many subs. With Pool working a fundraiser barbecue on the sidelines for an upcoming trip to Ecuador, Nathan Tucker put the game out of reach, converting a pass from Thomas Pool.

Eagle Homes was denied on a penalty shot by  goaltender Jeremy Kler, who made a spectacular diving stop to earn Total Restoration Save of the Match. Salmon Arm ruined Kler’s clean sheet when a forward beat the offside trap and converted on a breakaway.

Monashee Surveying and Riot FC ran to a 1-1 draw on Marshall #5.

Coming off an opening-week loss, Monashee scored early, with Matt McKeown capping a nice passing play. Brett Korberg and McKeown generated other chances, but couldn’t find the finish. Riot FC equalized on a solid breakout shortly before half.

Monashee controlled most of the second half, with strong play by Dave Henry and Chris Trethewey. Ryan Sharp made big saves down the stretch, and Zach Sharp earned Man of the Match honours for his never-ending hustle.

Hi-Pro Sportswear Camels FC slammed Peters Tirecraft 4-0 on Marshall #4.

Trevor Rachwalski, Mike Barrajon, Nathan Whitling and Fabrice N’Dri handled the Humpback offence. Whitling and Nick Pantaleo shored up the defence.

Stand-in keepers Mo Singogo and Bryn Knauf shared the shutout.
