Former Vernon Viper Liam Coughlin has been traded to the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Edmonton Oilers dealt the South Boston product Monday night in exchange for goaltender Anders Nilsson.
Coughlin, 20, tallied 60 points (20G, 40A) in 54 games for the Vipers last season. He recorded 10 points (3G, 7A) in 11 playoff games. He was drafted in the fifth round by the Oilers last year.
Nilsson, 25, from Lulea, Sweden, was selected 62nd overall by the New York Islanders. He played in 22 games from 2012-14 with the Islanders, going 9-9-0-2 with a 3.05 goals against average and a .898 save percentage.
Nilsson spent last year with the Kazan Ak-Bars of the KHL and went 20-9-8 with a 1.71 GAA and a .936 save percentage.
The Blackhawks have captured three Stanley Cups in the past six years.
