Cow High athletes set to lead the way

Athletes will have the opportunity to learn from some of the best field hockey and basketball players in the region at a pair of camps.

Young athletes in the Cowichan Valley will have the opportunity to learn from some of the best field hockey and basketball players and coaches in the region at a pair of upcoming camps

Players and coaches from the Cowichan Secondary School basketball program will be running the Thunderbirds Basketball Hoop Camp from Monday, June 27 to Thursday, June 30. The camp is open to boys and girls between grades 1 and 6, and runs from 9 a.m. to noon at the Quamichan and Alexander school gyms.

The fee, which includes a T-shirt, is $80 per camper, and $70 for each sibling that also registers.

Presented by coaches and players from the school’s 2015 provincial championship team, the Thunderbird Field Hockey Camp runs from Monday, July 4 to Friday, July 8 at the Cowichan Sportsplex and Quamichan campus, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.

No experience is necessary for the camp, which is open to players ages seven to 14, and costs $150 for 15 hours of instruction and a T-shirt.
