A solid 75 people gathered at the Onion Lake cross country ski trails for the Moose Marathon this morning, Saturday, Feb. 24.
The race included a 30K loop for the more ambitious skiers, starting at 10 a.m., and a 15K, 10K, 5K and 1.5K at 11 a.m. for other skiers, including the youngsters in Jackrabbits.
Cookie and juice stations broke up the race for those who wanted it.
The fastest two skiers in each category are as follows:
Male 30K: First was Yohannes Vandenberg, 1:35:13, and second Paul Bertrand, 1:39:12.
Female 30K: First was Kate Woods, 1:46:07, and second was Aliye Tuzlak, 1:46:08.
Male 15K: Abel Vandenberg was first at 52:42, and Gabe Vandenberg was second at 53:06.
Female 15K: Kim Barriere was first at 57:35, and second was Cheryl Brown at 1:25:58.
Male 10K: First was William Sluyter at 44:16 and second was Ben Carter at 45:14.
Female 10K: First was Gwen Sewell at 1:02:58, and second was Reanna Osborne at 1:05:06.
Male 5K: Wade Stewart and Jesse Hanna tied in first at 34:34, second was Mac Lambright at 36:49.
Female 5K: Chloe Eastman was first at 39:22 and Allison Forget was second at 39:43.
Female 1.5K: Freya Eastman was first at 13:45 and Mikenna Hall second at 13:57.
Male 1.5K: Luca Columbo was first at 16:10 and second was Daeyin Lennart at 22:36.
