The Cowichan Valley Capitals have trimmed a few more bodies away from their training camp roster, but are still giving some other faces a shot to crack the opening day lineup.

As players are cut from other teams, major junior and junior A, the Caps will see if any of them have what it takes to unseat anyone they had pencilled in thus far.

“There will be an influx of new players coming in for a look,” head coach Bob Beatty said.

The Caps still have a couple of exhibition games this weekend as they get closer to making the final decisions before the B.C. Hockey League season commences.

The team will visit the Alberni Valley Bulldogs Friday, then play at home against the Powell River Kings on Saturday at 7 p.m.

The Caps will open the regular season at home on Sept. 10, also against Powell River. The puck drops at 7 p.m.
