Brayden Damini went seven innings on the Vernon mound, striking out nine and issuing two walks and two hits.

Dylan Emmons was 1-for-3 with a double, while Garner Chudyk was 1-for-3 with a single.

“We just are not getting any breaks,” said Canadians’ coach Ken Liefke. “Five losses have been been by one run. I can feel our luck is about to change; we are due for a big turnaround.”

The injury-strapped Canadians went 0-for-4 on a weekend trip to the coast.

Down to 10 men, the C’s lost 6-2 and 10-0 to the Ridge Meadows Royals Sunday at Albion Park after falling 2-1 and 11-1 to the Tri-Cities Indians Saturday at Heritage Woods Park.

“I had to stick some of the boys in positions they are not used to playing,” said Liefke. “We had trouble getting our bats going. We hit the ball hard and unfortunately it was right at the other team. It seemed like there was 15 fielders out there at times.”
