Curling club has leagues for everyone

Curling registration

The ice is almost in at the 100 Mile House Curling Club and former and prospective new members are raring to go.

This season will offer leagues for men, ladies, mixed, juniors, beginners, blind curling and something entirely new they’re calling a business league.

Club president Joanne Doddridge says it’s a fun league for working people who don’t necessarily know how to curl, but might want to enjoy a little rivalry on the ice between local businesses. The cost will be $90 for a half season, and if interest is strong, a second session will be held.

For those who want to give curling a try without the commitment, there are two free sessions being offered on Oct. 5-6 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the rink. All folks need is a clean pair of indoor running shoes and the club will supply the rest of the equipment free of charge.

The club will hold its big registration day on Sept. 29 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the curling rink. Members will also be at Cariboo Mall and Save-On-Foods on Sept. 30 to share information about the club.
