The Comox Valley Aquatic Club Sharks swimmers ventured to Victoria Dec. 2-4 for the 14th annual Christmas Cracker meet.
The boys came out of the gates strong with Eric J. (14) swimming to three AAA times in 100m and 200m breaststroke, and 200m butterfly; Jordan R. (11) swimming to two AAA times in 400m and 200m freestyle; and Alec H. (14) also with a new AAA times in 100m breaststroke and multiple AA times.
Graham T. (13) claimed his place on the AA team that is travelling to championships in February with his AA swim in 100m free and Nathan M. (15) swam to two new AA times in 100m and 200m breaststroke.
Rafe P. (12) added new AAs in 200m freestyle and 200m IM, and Tobias M. (8) finished the meet with all best times.
With the girls, new AA times came from Janaya R. (14) in 400m IM, 100m breaststroke, 50m and 100m freestyle, Savanna H. (11) in 100m and 400m freestyle, Laine P. (11) in 400m freestyle, Iris T. (12) in 400m IM, Tasmin T. (12) in 200m breaststroke, and Shayna J. (13) and Tyra A. (12) in 200m breaststroke. Mackenzie H. (9) also qualified for the VI Regional Championships that will be held at the Comox Valley Aquatic Centre in January with her swim in 50m freestyle.
The team also claimed club records with Tyra, Tasmin, Iris and Nadya S. in 11/12 Girls 200m medley and 200m freestyle relays, and Rafe, Evan, Jordan and Tobias in 11/12 Boys 200m medley relay.
