Comox Valley United Soccer Club is presenting a summer academy hosted by the Comox Valley United men’s soccer team.
The July 18-22 CVUSC Summer Academy will be held at Queneesh Elementary with each day’s activities running from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The camp is for boys and girls born 2001-08 (U8 to U15).
Along with the Vancouver Island Soccer League Div. 1 United players, CVUSC coaches will be lending a hand.
The club notes the camp will be focused on player development, tactical skills, high-energy skill-building challenges and non-soccer fun.
“Players will train players in the essential elements of the BC Soccer Association’s recommended player development training program,” the CVUSC notes on its website.
“The camp will also incorporate fun, non-soccer activities like capture the flag, water games, relays and swimming. Be prepared to train hard, play hard and have fun!”
The $235 per player fee includes a T-shirt and swimming pool pass. Players need to bring a lunch and lots of water. A camp spokesperson notes spaces are limited, so early registration is recommended.
Registration opened June 1 and closes July 11. Click https://www.cvusc.org/register/public/login. For more information, contact the soccer office at cvuscsoccer@gmail.com
