The Pacific Cycling Centre is searching for athletes interested in competing in world championships and the Olympic Games in the next eight years.

The centre is accepting applications for the 2015-2016 development and high performance program, which identifies a group of athletes who have the potential to progress to the next level and eventually gain elite status to compete in world cup championships and the Olympic Games.

Men and women between the ages of 17 and 19, as well as those that are 23 years old from road, track and mountain biking are encouraged to apply.

Athletes will have access to the highest quality professional coaching and training, training camps, regular physiological testing and mentorship opportunities from Olympians.

“Having a full development and (high performance) program that includes coaching and racing opportunities with their desired team creates a very exciting opportunity for the next generation of upcoming cyclists,” said Houshang Amiri, head coach at the centre.

The season will kick off with supervised training ride sessions every Saturday and Sunday, beginning Saturday, Nov. 7.

The deadline to apply for the program is Sunday, Nov. 1. Interested athletes must submit a race CV and cover letter to info@pacificcyclingcentre.ca. For more information visit pacificcyclingcentre.ca.
