Deanna Tuchscherer chases assist record in win over Wolf Pack

The Canada West rookie of the year candidate fell one helper shy of the UFV record book Saturday.

The T train keeps rolling at UFV and the Cascades women’s basketball team is rolling with her.

Chilliwack’s Deanna Tuchscherer fell one rebound shy of a triple-double as her crew whomped the Thompson Rivers University Wolf Pack 91-76 Saturday in Kamloops. The GW Graham grad stuffed the stat sheet with 14 points, nine boards and 12 assists. The assist mark was one short of the all-time single game mark at UFV. The record of 13 was set by Megan McAllister on Nov. 8, 2008 vs. Manitoba.

Tuchscherer’s Cascades have won nine straight games, improving their overall record to 14-4.

UFV gets back to back home games against Regina this weekend at the Envision Athletic Centre in Abbotsford.
