Defending Scotties champ to teach at camp in Kelowna

Rachel Homan will part of Four Foot Curling Camp next month, headed up by national women's coach Elaine Dagg-Jackson

Two-time defending Canadian women’s curling champion Rachel Homan will highlight the coaching staff for the 2014 edition of the Four Foot Curling Camp, June 27 and 28 in Kelowna.

The camp, held at the Kelowna Curling Club, is headed up by national women’s coach and former Kelowna resident, Elaine Dagg-Jackson.

Other notable coaches include Grande Prairie’s Renee Sonnenberg, a two-time provincial champion out of Alberta, KCC manager and internationally renowned instructor Jock Tyre, and Melissa Soligo, a level 5 professional coach who has medaled at both the Scotties Tournament of Hearts national championship and the world championship.

Four Foot Curling Camp is the only curling camp of its kind for adult curlers.

An average day at camp includes two on-ice curling development sessions, two off-ice learning sessions, and a mini-game.

Each course is based on the needs and requirements of the participants. Instructors are highly qualified in all aspects of the game, and are ready to answer your questions and challenges. A low student-to-instructor ratio guarantees plenty of individual attention.

The program includes:

• Delivery analysis and development

• Strategy

• Video analysis

• Practice planning

• Many more tips and techniques the winners use.

The Four Foot Camp will run the two days prior to the Annual Canada Day Spiel at the Kelowna Curling Club and for the first time is open to novice curlers.  If you have never curled before and want to start on the right foot, register online at www.fourfootcurling.com.  The camp already has 30 registered campers and will be full at 80, so register soon.
