Valley Husker defensive back Simon Winsnes is the defensive player of the week in the B.C. Football Conference.
The first-year player led the Huskers to a shocking home-field win over the Okanagan Sun last weekend.
His 50 yard interception return touchdown provided the decisive points in a 22-18 triumph.
Winsnes added a fumble recovery, four solo tackles and a pass defensed.
It was the first time in franchise history, dating back to 1999, that the Huskers have beaten the Sun.
Winsnes and company are due to face the winless Kamloops Broncos in Kamloops this weekend, though the game may be moved to Chilliwack due to air quality concerns.
