A no-hitter and a pair of one-hitters highlighted an impressive weekend for the Langley Senior Blaze who went a perfect 4-0.
The men’s baseball team hammered the Trail Orioles 8-0 and edged the Kelowna Jays 3-2 on Saturday and followed that up with 1-0 and 8-0 wins over the Orioles on Sunday. All the games were at Kelowna’s Elks Stadium.
Kyle Joel allowed a single hit over the five innings of the shortened game while Graig Merritt and Zach Mihic drove in two runs apiece in the 8-0 win over Trail.
Aaron Horanski, Scott Webster and Bobby Wagner each had an RBI in the 3-2 win over Kelowna.
On the mound, Steven Federau picked up the win, allowing two runs over five innings.
In Sunday’s first game, Dillon Reynolds drove in the only run and that was more than enough for Corey Parsons, who struck out four and walked three over five innings. Reynolds also pitched the seventh for the save.
The second game saw Ryan Eiswerth throw a no-hitter in the 8-0 victory. Webster and Brad Ferraro both drove in a pair of runs.
