Duncan Christian School’s senior boys soccer team began preparations for hosting the Island single-A championships in October by holding an invitational tournament last weekend.

Langley’s Credo Christian, who won provincial bronze last year, went undefeated through the tournament, and Esquimalt had two wins and one loss. The DCS Chargers went 1-2, beating Brentwood College School’s development team 3-1 on goals by Hosang Kim, Nathan Powell and Minseok Kim. The Brentwood development team went winless.

DCS goalkeeper Vincent Fernandez had an excellent tournament, facing a barrage of shots in the games against Credo and Esquimalt, while Grade 12 players Noah Corbett and Morgan Cook also played well.
