Dynamite edge competition

Peninsula soccer’s Dynamite are just that.

The U13 Girls Gold team defeated Juan de Fuca in a thrilling championship game on Saltspring Island to clinch the 2011 District Cup Championship.

The action-packed match ended scoreless after regulation play and went to nail-biting penalty kicks to decide the winner. Although finishing in the middle of the regular season standings, the girls posted three hard-fought victories in the playoffs over teams with superior records and which they had been unsuccessful against during the season.

There were many best-of-the-season performances and the girls playing an inspired team game for the win.
