Early hole too much for Jr. Thunder

A five-goal deficit was too much to overcome as the Langley Jr. Thunder dropped an 11-7 decision to the New Westminster Jr. Salmonbellies.

The junior A lacrosse squads squared off on Sunday night at the Langley Events Centre and the Thunder (5-7) were looking for a second straight victory after a 10-8 road win on Friday over the Port Coquitlam Jr. Saints.

In the loss, Reegan Comeault led the offence with two goals and four assists, while Nick Stone had a hat trick and one helper.

Adam Will and Dayton Pagliericci had a goal apiece.

Against the Saints, Langley used an explosive middle period to score six goals in their way to the 10-8 victory.

Comeault against paced the attack with three goals and three assists.

Will scored twice, while Colten Hayes, James Jackson, Max Weselowski, Zach Porter and Brandon Bull had one goal apiece.

Bull and Kevin Lemond both had three assists.

Keenan Lambright made 28 saves for the win.

The Thunder have a busy week with three home games on Tuesday (June 14), Thursday against the Burnaby Jr. Lakers (3-8) and the Coquitlam Jr. Adanacs (12-0)and Sunday vs. the Victoria Shamrocks (8-4).
