It may be the coldest, wettest nastiest spring on record, but it hasn’t dampened the spirit of Oceanside’s young ball players as evident up at Springwood Park last Tuesday when Oceanside’s #1 and #2 Bantam teams waited out a big dump of the wet stuff to get a few innings in.

The field was heavy and footing sketchy but the effort level up there.

Oceanside # 1 won the first game 11-2 and Oceanside #2 won the second 3-2.

“Both games of the double header were shortened by downpours,” O2 coach Cliff Craven said after. “We only played four innings in total.”
