The EMCS Sr. girls volleyball team is headed to compete in the AA Island Girls Volleyball Championships in Nanaimo this weekend, and according to coach Ebony Logins, this is something that has not been done in a very long time.

Logins said this is the first time the Sr. girls team has made it to the championships in the last 15 years, if not in Sooke’s history.

The tournament is taking place today and tomorrow at John Barsby Community School, where the girls will compete against 7 other teams.

Their first game begins at 1:15 pm on Friday against John Barsby.
