Qualicum Beach’s Brayden Eriksen is back on the golf course once again in Spain, this time for The San Roque Club tournament at Finca Cortesin Golf Club.
Eriksen, who celebrated his 22nd birthday on Monday, November 30, has been golfing in the Gecko Tour in Spain since the end of October, currently sits in ninth place on the Gecko Golf Tour’s Order of Merit. He finished in the money in his first two tournaments but has since missed making the cut in his last three outings.
Looking to get back on track this week at The San Roque Club, Eriksen started off well with two birdies and a bogey on the front nine, giving him a score of one under par. The back nine wasn’t as friendly, as Eriksen had three bogeys, a double bogey and a triple bogey for a total of seven over par in his opening round. He’s not alone however, as only 10 of the 74 golfers in the field finished even or better. He’ll look to turn things around today and make the cut at The San Roque Club.
