You don't have to be a giant to excel at this sport

They may be the new kids on the block, but boy do they have game.

Further to our recent coverage of the 2012 Vancouver Island Taekwondo Championships at the Parksville Curling Club, Errington Taekwondo School was also in the mix.

“It was great — our kids did really good,” ETS head instrucor Revelina Lukashuk said proudly when The News caught up with her.

She added almost all of the 28 students she sent garnered gold in their divisions, and that many of them won gold in both forms and sparring.

“They were amazing.”

Of the 28 players representing ETS, 21 of them were 10 and under.

This is the second time the young school has competed in the Island Championships, and she said, “it was an awesome, awesome tournament. Tons of kids, very well run …”

ETS is now gearing up for its summer camps. The camp runs from July 9 to Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information call 250-954-2263.
