On Nov. 19, members of Barriere and District Riding Club had its year end award and volunteer recognition potluck.
There was a great turnout and wonderful food dishes, including a lovely cake with the B&DRC logo donated by Joanne Petersen.
Ginger Chappell, outgoing president, says the participation from the volunteers this year was greatly appreciated as this year required so much effort and 45 people sacrificed personal and family time to make the club’s goals a success. As well the participation of club members from Clearwater to Kamloops made all the work worthwhile.
Barriere and District Riding Club doubled its membership this year from 2010. There was a huge participation in the club’s Fun Days as well as Heritage Shows.
The 2012 executive is Darcey Woods (president), Lew Aldrich (vice president), Kate Fergusen (secretary), Jill Dunbar (treasurer) and directors Ginger Chappell, Mike Chappell, Sharon Threatful, Cherie Jardine and Kristina Bradley and youth delegate Jessica Chappell.
Ginger says the 2012 executive is a strong team and has no doubt the momentum of the club will continue.
