Sunday night the Kelowna Falcons gave their fans exactly what they were looking for—an impressive win West Coast League win over the Kitsap Bluejackets 12-1.
Returner Brandon Marris picked up right where he left off last year as the club’s Most Outstanding Pitcher. He would throw seven shut-out innings, allowing just two hits while striking out four. He recorded his first and the club’s first win of the year.
The offense exploded for 15 hits, led by Tyler Qualls, Kyle Pearson, Brock Slavin, Cameron Alvorado and Tucker Alexander. The heart of the order compiled 11 of those 15 hits and record nine RBIs.
The Falcons hitters would score at least one run in all but two of their at bats. In the third and sixth innings they would tally three runs each.
The Falcons (1-2) will meet the Bluejackets (4-6) again on Monday night, first pitch at 6:35 p.m. It’s also the first Kids Club game of the year. Kids 14-and-under can register for the Falcons Kids Club and become part of the Falcons Family with some great benefits including tickets to five games, an official t-shirt, VIP membership card, etc.
