The Kelowna Falcons will close out the 2014 West Coast League season this week at the amicable surroundings of Elks Stadium.
The Falcons will play their last six games at home, beginning Tuesday with a three-game series against the Wenatchee Apple Sox.
The Walla Walla Sweets will be in town for the final series of the season, with games Friday, Saturday and Sunday against the Falcons.
First pitch for Sunday’s season finale is 6:05 p.m.
Kelowna is coming off a three-game sweep at the hands of the hometown Yakima Valley Pippins.
The Falcons were shutout 2-0 on Sunday in the series finale.
It’s been a challenging season for the Falcons (15-33) and rookie coach Bill Clontz who have been dealing with a string of injuries and players leaving the club.
The club is down to 15 players as it wraps up the season this week on home soil.
“It’ll be nice to be at home to finish up,” said Clontz, who previously played and coached in Corvallis of the WCL. “We want the guys to play hard to the end and enjoy it.”
Meanwhile, tonight’s game against Wenatchee features Toonie Tuesday.
