Pair of Blow outs: Serenity mashes Bear; BCS carves up GM.

The old saying (Go Big or Go Home) was amply exemplified by the Blue Collar Brutes as they lit up the Chevy Crew for nine goals while only allowing two against in the feature match of week five.

A stunning break-out performance was delivered by Jason (Junior) Johnson who scored five goals and even found time to add an assist to clamber up the FHL scoring stats.

Having a mediocre game by his standards was Chad (The Comet) Swanson, who only scored one and added three helpers as Brian (Dynamite) Domeris matched (Comets) output for his best ever FHL morning.

The remaining goals were delivered by two BCS lightweights as Mike (Life of) Riley scored two and Bruce (Moose) Broughton scored one and added an assist while finally avoiding the sin-bin.

The other contest saw Bear lay another egg against Serenity who is the only team to defeat the candy stripers with a 6-1 pummelling this week a good follow up to their 4-3 squeaker last time around.

The Builders unheard of six unanswered goals could have actually been worse as the Green team’s tireless fore-check had the Bear Bunch looking for a den.

Leading the Builder onslaught was Lee (Nitro) Naeth who scored twice, added a pair of assists and single handily killed a minute of Bear power play time.

Also having a fine contest was Darcy (Doctor) McGillivray who scored once and added a helper on Cliff (The Hulk) Hunik’s first of the season.

One of the first players to have a shorthanded breakaway from centre ice was Eric (Bonsai) Bodman who despite missing on that opportunity collected an admirable quartet of assists.

Rounding out the scoring for the Builders was Les (Knuckles) Nylen with his third of the year as George (John, Ringo) Paul appears to have his MoJo back as he scored his first the season and 159th of a career that appeared to be waning.

This week in season four (1997), Curtis (The Flash) Fenton erupted for three goals and three assists as his two Fire Hydrant like wingers, Wade (Whamit) Zammit, with two goals and two assists, and Chris (Loyal) Royle, with one goal and two assists, were thankful for the giving nature of their centreman.
