Field of 90 ladies tackles The Rise

A total of 90 players enjoyed sun-drenched skies and stunning scenery Sunday in the Ladies of the Okanagan golf outing at The Rise.

A total of 90 players enjoyed sun-drenched skies and stunning scenery Sunday in the Ladies of the Okanagan golf outing at The Rise.

No individual or team scores were kept, but loads of prizes were given out.

Long drive winners on the 10th hole were Karen Christian for 0-22 handicap and Kristen Rawluk for 23-29 handicap. Teri Granley smacked the longest drive on the 18th hole to win the 30+ category, while Chris Megli took the no handicap group.

Pat Carter rolled in the longest putt on the ninth hole.

Closest to the pin champions included Kathy Richdale and Nicole Burden on the second hole, and Joan Hokanson and Judy Graham on the fourth.

Meanwhile, Patti Kidd and Pam Page combined for a 75 Saturday to win low gross in the Spallumcheen 2-Lady Best Ball Tournament.

The low net champions at 60.6 were Deb Akerman and Brenda Howard, followed by Marj Griffin and Karen Mosure at 61.7, and Cindy Hoffman and Grace Hinman at 63.7.

Marion O’Flynn and Edel Venus finished fourth low net at 64.3, while Cheryl Parker and Julie Pisch were fifth at 64.7, and Diane Baker and Linda Gordon placed sixth at 65.5.

Parker and Pisch recorded the least putts at 23, while long drives were turned in by Tara Brown (3), and Katrina Lenoury (2).

KP prizes went to Jaye Odagiri, Bev Gilchrist, Mosure, Lenoury and Nancy Laframboise, while longest putts were made by Naidene Shannon, Parker, O’Flynn, Laurie Arthur and Chris Panasiuk.
