Fight card full for WarPath mixed martial arts event

Tzeachten Hall is the site of the next WarPath event, May 2, featuring 10 bouts in various weight classes.

The fight card has been announced for the May 2 WarPath Fighting Championships event, being held at Tzeachten Hall.

Mixed martial arts fans will see 10 matches, including a welterweight title bout between Chad Gerow  and Andy Padda.

‘Ready to Go’ Gerow is from the Kitselas First Nation near Terrace. He trains at World Extreme Kickboxing in Surrey and Four Directions Martial Arts in Chilliwack.

Padda started his training under the guidance of Kultar ‘the Black Mamba’ Gill, and represents Surrey’s LevelUp MMA.

“Don’t blink!” said WFC promotor Darwin Douglas. “This fight will prove to be an all-out war between two equally tough and skilled opponents.”

Kolten ‘KoKo’ Higginbottom trains locally at Four Directions and will take on LevelUp’s Percy Hayer in a welterweight match.

Wally Joe, Stó:lo Coast Salish from the Kwakwapilt First Nation, meets Justin Auld-Field from Pacific Top Team Jiu Jitsu (Kelowna) in another feature match.

Events at Tzeachten Hall have traditionally been held in a ring, but this even will put the action into a cage.
