Three Langley FC soccer clubs lived to see another weekend of do-or-die action, while another pair saw their season come to a close.
The Langley FC Metro U14 girls’ soccer club had the game’s only goal in a 1-0 win over Upper Vancouver Island United at the turf field at Willoughby Park on Sunday. The win advances the team to the quarter-final round of the B.C. Coastal Cup Metro soccer tournament this weekend.
They join another pair of Langley FC squads, the U16 and U18 teams, who both had byes in the first round.
The U14 team will be on the road, while the other two will play Sunday at Willoughby Park.
Four other Langley FC teams were in action in their B.C. Coastal Cup tournament, but only two advanced to the quarter-finals.
The U13 Langley Sharks downed the DUN Adrenaline 3-0 and the Langley K-OS edged CAU United 1-0.
The U16 Langley Flames fell 1-0 to NSG (North Shore) Excel and the Langley Nitro lost 3-0 to the SBAA (South Burnaby) Elite 94 in U17 action.
