UPDATE: The South Okanagan Flames opened the Thompson Okanagan Junior Lacrosse League playoffs with a 23-2 loss to the Kamloops Venom Tuesday.
The Flames were blown out 21-7 by the Venom in Kamlooops on June 25 to close out the Thompson Okanagan Junior Lacrosse League schedule.
The Flames now trails the league’s best-of-five semifinal A match 1-0.
The loss on June 25 gave the Flames six wins, nine losses and a tie for the season, placing them fourth in the five-team circuit. Chace Moog led the Flames with a hat-trick, while Colin Duffield scored twice and singles by Adam Jones and Jake MacLeod. Flames leading scorer Connor Walton collected five assists to finish with 77 points on the season. On June 23, the Flames were doubled up by the Armstrong Shamrocks 16-8. Walton scored four goals, while Aiden Warren, MacLeod, Mike McLean and Sam Jones scored.
The Flames will host the Venom (13 wins, three losses) at the Oliver Arena on July 6 at 7:30 p.m. Game 3 returns to Kamloops on July 8. If Game 4 is necessary, it will be at the Oliver Arena on July 10 at 7:30 p.m.
