Salmon Arm’s Jill Flockhart was one of five University of Idaho women’s soccer players who were honoured last week with National Soccer Coaches Association of America Scholar All-West Region Team.
“The West is a huge region and it has some very good academic schools,” head coach Pete Showler said. “To have five players selected out of 50 from the University of Idaho is a huge compliment to their hard work and to them embracing the ‘student’ and the ‘athlete.’”
Midfielder Flockhart claimed Second Team accolades. She is an International Studies major who holds a cumulative 3.78 GPA. She is a two-time First Team All-WAC honoree and a 2010 NSCAA All-West Region pick. She led Idaho in 2011 with six assists and ranks fourth all-time at Idaho with 11 career assists. She also has five career game-winners, good for second all-time at Idaho, and a team-best .138 career shooting percentage.
